It's never too late to begin the healing process from childhood sexual abuse. It's never too early to fall in love with the person God created you to be. Long ago someone made a choice to take away your innocence, but today that someone can't touch your freedom to heal.

Survivor Stories

Rise and Shine Movement's purpose is to educate and encourage adults to talk to the kids they love about childhood sexual abuse.

But there are over 39 million childhood sexual abuse survivors in America! We believe healing occurs best in community.

That's why we started Tamar's Redemption Tuesdays: How We Hurt, How We Heal. A safe place where survivors can share their stories of hope and healing — to have their voices heard.

Survivors aren't the only ones effected by childhood sexual abuse. The pain and hurt of sexual violation is far reaching —mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, husbands, wives, aunts, uncles, cousins. We would like to encourage anyone who may have been closely effected by a loved one's abuse to share here, as well.

If you are a survivor or you love someone who has been effected by childhood sexual abuse and would like to share your story on the blog, please email Carolyn or Christy at Tamarsredemption@verizon.net. We will work with you to bring your words to life. You may share anonymously or use your name.

Or you may share your thoughts with the community in the comments section below.

  1. Let me be the first to welcome you to this community of survivor stories! The process of writing and sharing my own story on this blog was cathartic and healing for me.

I have found reading others' words, identifying with other people's feelings and thoughts has helped me over the years to not feel so alone.

If you want to read it, my story starts here: http://tamarsredemption.blogspot.com/2012/09/voices-of-tamars-redemption-christys.html
